N.H.S.

I have worked with many people in the National Health Service in a variety of contexts.

It always gives me pleasure to offer some support to the people who spend their lives supporting us all. Most of my work has been directly with individuals, from nurses to managers to senior consultants. Please ask me about discounts for N.H.S. employees.

As all my clients enjoy confidentiality, I can't give any details, but the range of issues includes:

Dealing with stress
Self-management
Overcoming personal issues
Communication skills
Presentation skills
Meeting and chairing skills
Personal development
Overcoming unfortunate habits while managing patient interactions
(which had resulted in complaints from patients).

The organisations I have worked with include:

The Northern Centre for Cancer Treatment
Newcastle Paediatric Oncology Team
Brighton Hove & East Sussex Health Authority
Bristol United Healthcare Trust
Cape Cornwall Surgery, St. Just
Stennack Surgery, St. Ives

The Eastman Institute

Strictly speaking, the Eastman Institute is not part of the NHS. It's the post graduate training centre for dentistry of the University of London. I worked with a team of dentists to develop a rapid treatment for phobic and highly anxious patients - we succeeded.

The resulting technique, the Guided Eye-Movement Induction (GEMI) has proved to be a reliable and effective treatment that works especially well for patients who are already in the phobic state. As a result, I was invited to devise and deliver a training on Anxiety Prevention for the Institute, something I did for a number of years.
